Landholders hold the key to FBA's successful flood based sediment
and nutrient monitoring program. Dedicated individuals in strategic
locations dust off their drizabone's and collect up to six samples
from each rainfall event that causes flooding. This monitoring is
conducted at the Neighbourhood Catchment scale (~300km
2
to 2000km
2
catchment or group of small catchments).
Monitoring Program Supporters
Currently this monitoring program is being funded through the
National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality and more
recently co-funded by the National Landcare Program.
Monitoring Plan
A monitoring plan has been developed for the Priority Neighbourhood
Catchments Water Quality Monitoring Program. It provides details on
the project including
- Project objectives
- Who benefits from the information and how is it applied?
- What is monitoried and how?
- Where is the monitoring taking place?
- When and how often is the monitoring taking place?
- How is the data quality assured, managed and reported?
- Who is involved and how?
- Program Field Guide
- Program In situ Field Sheet
This monitoring plan is updated annually. To read the latest

Event Reports
To ensure event data is available for stakeholders as soon as
possible FBA produces event reports. In essence the event report is
a summarised page of information relating to a single flood event
occuring in a priority neighbourhood catchment.
