Emu Park Bushcare World Wetlands Day Community Planning Day & Get together
The Emu Park Bushcare Group held a well attended community planning day and get together (18 registered adults plus children) on Sunday, 4th February to celebrate World Wetlands Day. Activities included ground water monitoring, guided tours of the lagoon, weed id and management and the use of mapping to identify areas of remnant vegeation. The organisers would like to acknowledge local Emu Park businesses - butcher, baker and grocer - for supplies donated to the lunch time BBQ and morning tea. [pdf 49.8 kb]
FBEC 'Fish for tomorrow?' Bus Tour
Murri people interested in the management & preservation of fish, creeks, rivers and wetlands visited sites where the natural balance has been disturbed. The tour visited Raglan Creek, Bajool Weir and the Fitzroy River Barrage. Murries and others shared their stories about the management of fish, creeks, rivers and wetlands. [pdf 142.5 kb]
