Biodiversity Fund Round One (2011-12) Workshop

Greening Australia and the Australian Government invite you to look at various styles of revegetation to improve biodiversity, while you are considering new upcoming funding opportunities. Open to anyone with an interest!

Witness King Tides Family Day Yeppoon

View the highest tides for the year, take photos and enter them in FBA's King Tide Competition for your chance to win great prizes! You'll also be helping to improve scientific understanding of what the potential impact of sea level rises could be in the future. The photos submitted will be compiled with others from across the state and use to assist in climate change planning and mitigation efforts.

As the CSG industry continues to expand in Queensland it is crucial people stay informed on industry activity and legislation. Topics will include:

  • Analysing physical, social, financial and other impacts resulting from CSG activities

Farming for Carbon - Profiting from Climate Change workshop

A one-day workshop for landholders presented by Rod Glass and Bob Miles. Learn how to profit from Climate Change by gaining knowledge on how carbon-trading systems operate, the opportunities present through the Federal Governments Carbon Farming Initiative and what risks to look out for. Topics covered include:

  • The implications of Climate Change on Agriculture.
  • The emerging business opportunities and pitfalls.
  • How to add value on existing practices and incorporate additional revenue streams.
  • Soil carbon, forestry, bio-char and renewable energy.
  • The emerging carbon economy and its legislation.
