Carbon market: friend or foe for agriculture?

On Friday 24 October, in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting, FBA hosted a forum on the risks and opportunities for agriculture associated with trading on the carbon market. A diverse group of experts were brought together to deliver presentations and then discussion and questions from the audience were taken.

Presentations included:

- The implications of the National Emissions Trading scheme on agriculture – Drew Wagner, AgForce Queensland

- The risks associated with trading carbon – Dr Lorraine Stephenson, Ernst & Young

- Trading soil carbon – Terry McCosker, Carbonlink

- Regional verification of biocarbon – Penny Van Oosterzee, Degree Celcius

- Emerging Business opportunities - Bob Miles, CQUniversity
