The Fitzroy Basin Association Inc. (FBA) is a community-based organisation that promotes sustainable development in Central Queensland. FBA involves the region’s major natural resource management stakeholders who have an interest in the use and management of the natural resources of the Fitzroy Basin and the broader Central Queensland region.
The Association's role is to promote sustainable development in the Fitzroy Basin through Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) processes.
The FBA team will be developing proposals for funding under Caring for Our Country from mid January until late February. Groups and agencies seeking more information on getting FBA’s involvement in their 'Caring for our Country' project, can find criteria and details of the relevant people to contact here.
Fitzroy Basin Association Inc. (FBA) has recently undertaken water quality testing across the basin in response to concerns about water quality due to water being discharged from mines. You can see where we tested and download the full set of results here.
FBA also regularly monitors 20 sites across the Fitzroy Basin as part of the Priority Neighbourhood Catchments Water Quality Monitoring project. You can view and download baseline water quality data collected from these sites here.
