To support landholders to make voluntary changes on their
properties, BCSR in partnership with the Fitzroy Basin Association
and other funding sources, are able to offer financial incentives
to carry out on-farm infrastructure development.
BCSR works with landholders in
Neighbourhood Catchment
target areas that have been identified through a prioritisation
process. The priority areas have been selected through
consideration of values such as biodiversity, salinity, sediment
delivery, weeds and community activity.
BCSR are currently providing funding for projects with landholders
in the
Galloway
and
Upper Calliope River
Priority Neighbourhood Catchments in the west of the catchment and
Rodds Bay
in the east.
Some examples of previous projects funded include:
Riparian fencing and off-stream watering systems of grazing
properties;
Improved cropping practices;
Strategic weed control;
Protecting remnant vegetation and biodiversity values on property;
Improving the management of saline areas and wetlands;
Water use efficiency initiatives on horticultural properties;
Provision of satellite maps for property management planning.

Even if you are not located in the priority areas, BCSR can still
work with you in a variety of capacities. All landholders and
interested community members are welcome to our workshops and Field
Officers can help landholders in other areas through provision of
property mapping and property management planning assistance.
Field Officers are also able to assist landholders throughout the
catchments to access funding through additional funding sources
such as Caring for our Country, Coastcare and many others.
