Land managers with smaller holdings will be given all the knowledge
and skills needed to run a safer farm with healthier animals at a
workshop on Sunday November 6.
The Boyne Calliope Sub Region of the Fitzroy Basin Association has
joined forces with AgForce to run the free workshop in Calliope.
AgForce representative and local landholder Leo Neill-Ballantine
will host the workshop on his Galloway Plains property from 9am to
3pm.
The workshop will cover topics including: hendra virus and
Biosecurity issues; ensuring livestock are tagged and compliant;
connection between good ground cover and animal health; safe and
effective cattle handling and yard safety; achieving minimal animal
and human stress through the use of working dogs.
