The BCSR plays an important role in helping to facilitate
community, industry and government partnerships to achieve improved
natural resource management within the Boyne and Calliope
Catchments.
Current projects that involve other partner organisations
include:
- Member of the Port Curtis Integrated Monitoring Program (PCIMP) a
collaborative, holistic monitoring program undertaken for the whole
of the Port Curtis.
- Working with Gladstone Regional Council to support the local
Catchment Working Groups in the Boyne Valley, Bracewell and
Calliope River areas. Staff provide technical support and
incentives to these groups where possible.
- Managing the northern section of the South East Queensland
Rainforest Recovery Project to improve the management and
protection of rainforest ecosystems within the southeast Queensland
bioregion. Project partners include Burnet Mary Regional Group
(BMRG), South East Queensland Natural Resource Management Group
(SEQNRM), private landholders, Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) and
SEQ Fire and Biodiversity Consortiu m
- Being involved since 2007 in several releases of the Tingid Bug in
conjunction with Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) and Gladstone
Regional Council – Calliope Office.
- Various interactions with school groups around the region to
provide them with specialist technical advice and information.
- Working in parnetship with AgForce, Central Queensland Forest
Association, Conservation Volunteers Australia, Boyne Tannum
Coastcare, Grazing BestPrac, departmental staff and neighbouring
sub-regions to hold many successful events open to the general
public.
